Tech tips for making the switch from home to campus.
No doubt there will be a few adjustments as you switch from home to campus. We’ve provided you with some tech tips so you’re prepared on your first day back.
- Don’t forget your CrimsonCard and parking pass. Be sure they are up to date. Missing your CrimsonCard? See Replacing your CrimsonCard.
- Computers that have been powered off during the pandemic may need significant time to complete upgrades. Some programs, such as Zoom, may not be able to connect until they are upgraded to a recent version. There may be many updates that are needed, such as reconfiguring Outlook after the Exchange migration, so please allow several hours for this process and plan to have limited use of your computer during this time.
- You should bring back any peripherals, (e.g., mouse, keyboard, headset) you will need that have been at home. Make sure any peripherals left on campus are fully charged and connected. Docking stations may need to be reconnected to reset them.
- Make sure you are connected to the eduroam Wi-Fi network, as IU Secure Wi-Fi will no longer be available as of Dec. 22, 2021.
