HPC at IU user,

The monthly maintenance was completed. IU’s high performance computing and storage systems are fully available to you.

New training available

Apply (no-charge) to attend the NCGAS three-day, online, semi-asyncrhonous workshop on high performance computing (HPC) usage and transcriptome assembly, annotation, and analysis. Space is limited.

Are you interested in helping become more fluent in helping researchers with their computing-intensive or data-intensive research? Register (no-charge) for the Virtual Residency 2021 Summer Workshop on Research Computing Facilitation, previously attended by Research Technologies personnel – with panels and sessions led by the same.

Storage Resources

Slate:

  • Users who were over quota after last month’s migration have two months left to bring their usage down.  Contact hpfs-admin@iu.edu if you need help.

Slate-Project:

  • Migration to the new Slate-Project backend is underway. Notification with details has been sent to all Slate-Project owners. As we move forward, expect to be contacted by HPFS staff to schedule a final rsync from the old system to the new. Contact hpfs-admin@iu.edu if you experience problems or have questions.

Slate-Scratch:

  • Testing during the month of April revealed issues which we believe have been patched. We will continue testing, hoping for a successful rollout in June.

Geode (home directory):

  • No updates.

Geode-Project:

  • No updates.

Scholarly Data Archive (SDA):

  • No updates.

Globus:

  • No updates.

Supercomputing for Everyone Series (SC4ES) training

Research Technologies hosts a variety of training available at no-charge to you.

    • Register for one or more of the SC4ES: NCGAS Genomics Research webinar series, second Tuesday of each month, 2-3pm.
  • Register for the Virtual Residency 2021 Summer Workshop on Introductory/Intermediate/Advanced Research Computing Facilitation, hosted by The University of Oklahoma. Workshop is June 7-11, 2021.
