Compute Resources

Review module changes for the past 60 days here.

Carbonate:

  • UITS Research Technologies (RT) is transitioning the job submission and scheduling environment on Carbonate from TORQUE/Moab to Slurm. Starting April 12, 2021, TORQUE and Moab will no longer be available on Carbonate. To help researchers prepare for the transition, RT provides a Slurm debug partition on Carbonate for testing job scripts converted from TORQUE to Slurm.
    • For help converting a job script from TORQUE to Slurm, email the Research Applications and Deep Learning team.
    • For more about SLURM, see Use Slurm to submit and manage jobs on high performance computing systems.
  • During the next maintenance all Deep Learning modules older than 2.3.0 will be deprecated prior to future deletion. Deeplearning/2.3.0 will become the default at that time.

Research Desktop (RED):

  • The Box setup menu item has been removed.
  • See Access Google at IU My Drive from Research Desktop (RED) for helpful suggestions.

Big Red 3:

Slurm was upgraded from version 19.05.5 to 20.11.4
