This second phase of the migration is different and a bit more complex than the first phase. All group account owners (were notified) must take action to avoid having files deleted. Unlike the first phase of the migration, taking no action will result in data loss.
In order to avoid data loss reach out to your IT Pro and:
- You must organize your files and determine where you wish to move them
- You need to create an institutional file storage location in the Microsoft or Google environment prior to the move
- Use this form to request new storage
- Learn why you should create an institutional file storage location
- You must fill out a survey about where to move your files by October 10
This survey allows you to choose a destination for each top-level folder in Box (i.e. some folders can go to Google, some to Microsoft). You can use folder permissions to ensure access for only those who need it. The form can be submitted multiple times, and folders can be included or skipped each time, but once a destination for a folder is selected and submitted, the form won’t allow it to be changed.
