You can view and download files from Box until then. After May 10, IU Box will be disabled for all users. You will no longer have access to files stored in Box.
Additionally, anyone you have shared files with will no longer have access. For example, you may have shared a file with someone outside of IU who has continued to use it in the “read-only” state during IU’s Box phase-out. If you need to share files with people inside or outside IU, please use the Microsoft and Google storage and collaboration platforms. (If you need to continue accessing Box with your IU account for external collaborations, see below for how to convert your account.)
Thank you for your flexibility and patience during the retirement of the Box cloud storage service and the transition to the Microsoft and Google storage platforms.

Convert your IU Box account to a Box.com account
Some people might need to maintain their Box account for collaborations outside of Indiana University. (For example, if you are collaborating on a research project in a folder owned by another Box school, such as the University of Illinois, or a professional organization to which you belong.) To accommodate this need, Box users at IU can convert their IU Box account to a personal “lite” account hosted by Box.com. If you do not need to use your IU email to access Box files, you do not need to convert your account.
If you convert your account, all data owned by your IU Box account will be permanently deleted as part of this process, and only data that you collaborate on with other institutions or entities will remain visible to you.
If you need to access Box data using your IU email address, for example if you access data shared with your Box account by a party outside of IU, you should convert your account before June 30. After IU’s contract with Box ends, you will not be able to create a personal Box.com account using an IU email address until six months after IU’s contract ends—through the end of 2021.
